AUCTIONing luxury homes has it’s pros and cons. An agent that operates at their best in this method of sale can talk all day about the positive reasons and agents that can’t stand not being in control of price and have a desperate need to be right, they usually throw up a few negatives. Over the years I’ve sold as an agent and auctioneer I’ve settled within myself that it’s ok to be wrong. That’s because if I am wrong the Seller is better off and in this case we were wrong again. We were confident we had the interest to get a result however we were really hoping to make our Sellers dreams come true. It wasn’t easy and the auction went for a while, it stalled we negotiated we were still crawling to get to the dream price then new interest entered in and the Sellers dreams come true. We exceeded the reserve and expectations. That’s always a good result. It was a packed house, multiple registered bidders however if I was to say something about getting the best price it would be … “ sometimes as agents we just have to get out of the way and let the auction work it’s magic “ An incredible result from James Monaghan and the team from @raywhitethegap SOLD Circa $2.2million.
